According to a lot of doomsday sayers, we should have experienced the end of the world or an apocalypse dozens of times so far. Well it hasn’t happened yet, no matter how many sources they provided to prove them right. Their facts are normally based on an omnipotent being directly communicating with them or they have deciphered the date from a book over 2,000 years old.
Have you ever felt like just not caring? Someone could be talking to you about something and you find it completely irrelevant? Do you tell that person or someone else that “I could care less”?
Normally I feel writing about “famous people” is too cheap and easy, almost too stupid. But sometimes it is entertaining to view what they consider problems. In this case, however, one problem is real and he joins what most Americans deal with: debt. Kanye West announces he is in
debt 53 million dollars.
If you wanted to watch Netflix what would you use? A computer? A phone? A Tablet, Xbox, PlayStation, or Roku? There are a lot of options to choose from for just watching one service. What about if you wanted to watch cable TV? Well you would just use your cable box that the cable company gives you and charges you monthly for. This adds up to over $230 per year, and if you have multiple TVs prepare to pay for multiple boxes.
A lot of internet providers around the world love to have data cap limits on your internet. If you want to go over some will charge you per GB or even TB (if you are reading this from a time period where TB is the new standard).
It makes sense though, right? I mean just like when you use more electricity, natural gas, or water you should pay more. More usage = more costs?
The brain is NOT like a computer. Nature is full of unplanned obstacles, and robots steered by anything like conventional computers cannot circumvent unplanned obstacles. The requirements for surviving in nature must therefore be the same as the requirements for taking a third ignored opportunity that the “poverty of the stimulus” false dichotomy ignores. The only way this has been successfully done in artificial intelligence research is by storing and processing information in a statistical way that allows patterns to emerge spontaneously from examples, as shown in “Norvig: On Chomsky and the two cultures of statistical learning” as well as by Watson the Jeopardy computer. This predicts that living brains do the same. Neurons can and do genetically engineer themselves on command from other neurons (References: “Aneuploid neurons are functionally active and integrated into brain circuitry” and “How many genomes do you have?”).
Humans Are Stupid now has a twitter feed! This is for quick and short tweets about random stupid things. Some may appear on here in much more detail but most won’t. Some just don’t have enough content to warrant a whole post on the topic, but 160 chars is more then enough 🙂
The twitter feed will also alert anyone to new posts on this site as they happen. Just remember there is plenty of content out there, just not enough time to write about all of it…
While driving at night one… night… I saw a car that the owner just had to modify to the “EXTREME!”. It appeared be a Geo Metro originally and then some madman came up with a hacksaw and took the top back portion off. Of course I took a picture and had my rear passenger take one just to make sure we capture this piece of art on film… digitally.
I hate plastic bags! They are such a pain in the @$$. I use to not mind them when I worked at a grocery store during my younger days. They were more convenient to carry and work with, but now they are nothing but a nuisance. I see them everywhere, on the road, in grass, and even in trees.
I have witnessed this on many occasions. As something becomes less familiar, the human mind has to work overtime, which causes mistakes and irrational decisions. This could result from getting lost, being delayed, having major changes to deal with and many more things which all too frequently happen.
